The Evolution of AMTech

Amtech Equipment Maintenance, Inc, was started, over a quarter century ago by Ken Kastner and Bill McDaniel, both former Eastman Kodak service technicians. Based on an idea of offering high quality onsite equipment service at a reasonable price, Amtech was incorporated in 1984. Our operation was and is fueled by the concept that our customers are our most important asset.

In the beginning, microfilm equipment was the company's main focus, with much of that being high speed check filmers and retrieval equipment. As is today, our customers had the option of maintenance contract or time and materials service. With the advent of digital imaging, document scanners and computers began to replace microfilm equipment as a document storage mode. This evolution led to the addition of factory trained Kodak Equipment Service Rep, Tom Johnson in 1992

Adding Tom helped Amtech migrate smoothly into digital imaging world. We began servicing document scanners in addition to the existing microfilm base. Further evolution came with the addition of Harvey Lovejoy. In 2002 Tom Johnson and Harvey Lovejoy purchased Amtech from Mr. Kastner. Harvey’s expertise was also in digital imaging, but in the printing industries prepress field. At that time we added service for Kodak Approvals and plate processors for graphics customers. In addition to our original microfilm mainstay we now offer digital document scanner service and sales for most makes and models as well as Kodak graphic and prepress equipment.

Whether you prefer maintenance contract or per call, rates from Amtech have always been a better value than those offered by our competition. In addition to our low rates, we will respond to your service request within in 4 business hours or less 90% of the time.
